About

Heartwatch provides online exercise classes for people who have had:

  • angina that is currently stable

  • an angiogram currently medically managed

  • a heart attack

  • coronary artery bypass grafting

  • insertion of stents

You must have attended a hospital-based Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme (CRP) of Education and Exercise or completed a home-based programme supplied and supported by your local hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation Team.

A 'referral letter' to Phase IV CRP or a discharge letter from the hospital team is required.

If due to Covid-19 you have been unable to complete Cardiac Rehabilitation you may register for a Heartwatch class if your GP agrees to refer you using a 'Coronary Heart Disease Referral Form'.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Heartwatch also provides online exercise classes if:

  • more than 6 months has elapsed since your acute cardiac event

  • if it is more than 6 months since you were discharged from Phase Ill

  • if you have a coronary heart disease history but no recent acute event

  • if you have had a device such as a pace-maker or an internal cardiac defibrillator fitted

  • if you have a rhythm disturbance such as atrial fibrillation or other arrhythmias

Your General Practitioner must refer you to Heartwatch using a 'Coronary Heart Disease Referral Form'.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
